$1M Mo. animal shelter makeover never happened

This is just wrong. This really upsets me. This was a highly publicized contest, not only on Zootoo's website, but in the media as well. Randy Grim, who has written 2 wonderful books (well, I've only read one, but I assume the other one is just as tood. The books are 'The Man Who Talks to Dogs' and 'Miracle Dog'.), is a wonderful man who works endlessly for homeless dogs in MI, and in his shelter, Stray Rescue - http://www.strayrescue.org/.

  1. I work for one of the shelters that has been chosen to be a top 10 finalist for this years Shelter Makeover. We have been keeping a keen on on this issue ever since it came up early last week.

After talking to several people about it and then dealing with the negative backlash of that article (our local newspaper spun it to look like we were the naive shelter getting scammed and a local radio station pulled there advertising support because of it)we have come to an understanding that this seems to be more of a communication issue then a somebody screwing somebody else issue. It also needs to be CLEARLY stated that it was never supposed to be a million dollar check but a prize of up to a million dollars in cash, goods and services. Everyone who was in the top 10 now are very clear on that fact.

The shelter makeovers MAIN intention is to rally the community together and get people to support there local animal shelter and Zootoo has helped us do that in spades!

If you want to read more about this issue and our shelter feel free to visit our website: http://www.buttehumane.org/page/shelter-makeover.php
